LAURIE LEBLANC<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
Laurie LeBlanc is one of Canada\u2019s rising country music stars, whose distinctive style contains a sizable helping of east coast Acadian flavor. His latest album, When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right, follows up his first all-English release\u20142013\u2019s covers collection Influences\u2014with 10 original songs co-written with some of Nashville\u2019s top songsmiths, produced by multi-CCMA award winner Jason Barry, and featuring members of Dean Brody\u2019s touring band. The results add up to LeBlanc\u2019s most accomplished record to date, and a long-overdue introduction to English country audiences. \n

\nWhen It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right also marks 10 years since LeBlanc released his debut album, La Pitoune, which quickly established his reputation in his home province of New Brunswick and throughout the Maritimes and Quebec by earning many industry accolades. As his profile continued to grow over the years with each subsequent release, LeBlanc gradually began testing the English market to the point where\u2014to quote one of When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right\u2019s standout tracks\u2014he\u2019s now gone \u201cAll In.\u201d\n

\n\u201cWhen I first started singing country music, I was covering people like George Jones, George Strait and Alan Jackson,\u201d LeBlanc explain. \u201cBut being a proud Acadian I wanted to sing in French, and that led to the formation of my group Zarico, which made two francophone albums before I went solo. When I decided to pay tribute to some of my favourite classic country songs on Influences, it was a dream come true to record in Nashville with some of the city\u2019s finest musicians. Then when I met Jason Barry in 2019, everything began falling into place to make my first all-original English album, and I\u2019m really proud to now be able to show my versatility in both languages.\u201d\n

\nIndeed, LeBlanc serves up more than a few soon-to-be standards on When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right starting with the title track, one of a half-dozen on the album contributed by Don Mescall whose songs have been recorded by everyone from Rascal Flatts and Lonestar to the Backstreet Boys and Geri Halliwell. However, the pair really clicked on the album\u2019s first single \u201cThe Bigger The Better,\u201d which Mescall originally wrote with Don Schlitz, whose first hit just happened to be Kenny Rogers\u2019s \u201cThe Gambler.\u201d\n

\nA classic drinking song, \u201cThe Bigger The Better\u201d is the perfect showcase for LeBlanc\u2019s rich vocals and undeniable charm. \u201cTo be able to record a song that was written by such an amazing songwriter as Don Schlitz is a gift,\u201d LeBlanc says. \u201cOn top of that Don Mescall wanted to be part of the video, so we were able to shoot it in Montreal earlier this year when he was able to come to Canada. We had a great time, and the video really captured that.\u201d\n

\nAlthough there was no shortage of demos by other writers from which to choose for When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right, LeBlanc was inspired to keep pushing his own desire to write in English. This effort produced the aforementioned \u201cAll In,\u201d created in collaboration with his wife and manager Jeannette. \u201cI\u2019ve written numerous French songs, and most of them are based on fun ideas that I hope make people smile,\u201d he says. \u201cSo I wanted to try to do that in English. \u2018All In\u2019 is about a guy and a girl going head to head in a poker game. The guy is actually playing to win her heart. He thinks they\u2019re on the same page until he realize she was bluffing. He ends up losing the girl and the poker pot!\u201d\n

\nLeBlanc doesn\u2019t have to worry about such a scenario when it comes to Jeannette, whom he says was his number one inspiration for When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right. \u201cShe wanted me to record an English album for a while,\u201d he says. \u201cI needed to step out of my comfort zone, and it turned out to be a truly gratifying experience. I\u2019ll always love singing in French and cherish the support I get from my francophone audience, but hearing one of my songs on the radio alongside the Canadian and American country artists I admire gives me so much joy.\u201d\n

\nThat joy is sure to be shared by listeners hearing Laurie LeBlanc for the first time on When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right. Although the country music field will always be competitive, artists like LeBlanc know that the only way to succeed is by having great songs, no matter what language they\u2019re in. \n

\n\u201cI wanted this album to have a diverse sound, but it\u2019s also important to me to make people happy through my music,\u201d he says. \u201cIf I can connect with a song, then hopefully other people will too. In the end, I like to inspire people with the songs I sing. It made total sense to call the album When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right because that\u2019s basically how I felt throughout the whole process. Laurie LeBlanc was born in the small village of Shemogue. When he was 10 years old, his parents moved the family home (yes, the house itself, literally!) to settle in Bouctouche, which is still his hometown today. Upon arriving in his new neighborhood, he met Jeannette, who would later become his wife and manager, as well as Pierre LeBlanc, a guitarist who encouraged him to sing\u2026 but Laurie was very shy! In fact, it was this shy nature that led him to study Civil Engineering Technology.<\/span><\/p>

2019 was a banner year for LeBlanc. Recipient of <\/span>Male Country Artist of the Year\u00a02019<\/span><\/i> au Josie Music Awards au Tennessee, Laurie LeBlanc participe \u00e9galement \u00e0 un congr\u00e8s de danse et musique country organis\u00e9 par la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Francophone de Country Dance et Line Dance FFCLD \u00e0 Issoudun, en France.\u00a0 Cette exp\u00e9rience s\u2019av\u00e8re importante dans son parcours alors qu\u2019il y rencontre l\u2019auteur-compositeur-interpr\u00e8te irlandais Don Mescall, qui lui proposera par la suite plusieurs chansons.\u00a0 De l\u00e0 na\u00eet son premier album anglophone de composititions originales, <\/span>When It\u2019s Right It\u2019s Right<\/span><\/i>, qui sort en 2020.\u00a0 R\u00e9alis\u00e9 par l\u2019\u00e9m\u00e9rite Jason Barry (Dean Brody, <\/span>Charlie Major, Terri Clark, Jason Blaine etc..)<\/span><\/p>

En 2022, Laurie releases his 8the<\/sup> solo career recording \u2018Long Weekend,\u2019 a double EP of original songs in French and English full of beach songs & sunshine.<\/p>

His 9th studio album, titled \u00ab\u202f<\/strong>De hier \u00e0 demain\u202f\u00bb<\/strong>released in April 2026, is an EP project featuring collaborations with yesterday's legends, current stars, and emerging artists from New-Brunswick, Quebec and Lousianna.<\/p>
