Laurie LeBlanc wins SOCAN Songwriter Award

Country Artist Laurie LeBlanc from Bouctouche, New Brunswick won the SOCAN Songwriter Award last Saturday (Oct 19, 2019) at the 7th Annual Canadian Francophone Country Music Awards.

After winning “Male Country Artist of the Year” last month at the 5th Annual Josie Music Awards in Tennessee, Laurie is proud to receive this new award which includes a 1,000 $ bursary and a two-week residency at the SOCAN house located in Nashville, TN.

The timing is perfect for the Singer-Songwriter. “I’m honored for this recognition and I share this award with my wife and full-time manager Jeannette, who co-writes with me. With my new album scheduled to be released in the spring of 2020, this couldn’t have happened at a better time.”

LeBlanc took full advantage of his visit in Laval, Quebec to shoot the video of the song “The Bigger the Better”. Co-written by Don Mescall and Don Schlitz who wrote Kenny Rogers big hit “The Gambler”, the title will be available on his upcoming album. Don Mescall from Ireland made the trip to be part of the video and sing at the event’s showcase.

The album “When it’s Right, it’s Right” is being produced by the multi-award winner and CCMA Producer of the Year, Jason Barry from BarryTone Studio.
