Music NB has selected Laurie LeBlanc to represent the province of New Brunswick in the CCMA Spotlight Performance Contest. Managed by The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), this national competition gives an artist in Canada the chance to win a showcase during Canadian Country Music Week in Hamilton, Ontario, from September 6 to 9, 2018.
The Canadian organization invites provincial music industry associations to submit an artist. The provinces represented are Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick.
Only nine artists in Canada are in the running for this award and the Acadian Artist from Bouctouche, NB is the first Francophone Singer-Songwriter to represent New Brunswick and possibly the first Francophone Singer-Songwriter to participate in this competition.
